The article explores the rhetorical perspectives of graphic history writing of a social movement. The investigation is based on academic argumentation, as well as graphic elements. In dialogue with theories on feminism, rhetorical historiography, social movement, and graphic narratives, I argue that graphic narratives of history are suited to 1) enhance resonance between separate times, 2) give presence to particular objects, situations and places, 3) include voices from the margin, and 4) promote a perception that is open to the reader’s participation. The article’s graphical elements offer a tentative suggestion for an alternative history of rhetoric that discusses women’s status in this history and visualizes and gives voice to some of the first Danish women who spoke in public and paved the way for the Danish women’s rights movement.
