Artiklen undersøger de retoriske perspektiver af at formidle en social bevægelses retorikhistorie grafisk. Det gør den dels igennem videnskabelig argumentation og diskussion, dels i form af et tegnet og malet narrativ. Den videnskabelige del er funderet på teorier om sociale bevægelser, feminisme og retorikhistorie, men går særligt i dialog med to teorier om grafisk fremstilling af sociale bevægelser, når teserne formuleres: At grafisk fremstilling egner sig godt til 1) at skabe resonans mellem forskellige tider, 2) stille ind på materialitet og 3) formidle marginale stemmer, og 4) give en mere åben erkendelsesform. Artiklens grafiske elementer giver et tentativt bud på en alternativ retorikhistorie, der i skrift og streg diskuterer kvinders status i retorikhistorien og fortæller om nogle af de første.
